System Admins: How do I set-up MFA?

We've recently introduced the ability for System Administrators to choose and set their MFA login preference for Advisers, Managers, Admin Assistants, System Administrators, and Introducers.

Users can now choose between receiving a code to their mobile or Microsoft's Authenticator App.

Please note: This feature is not available to HomeBuyers (Clients).

Where do I start?

The feature to choose an authentication option is currently only available to System Administrators. This is managed through the existing User Management portal.

For all applicable account holders, you will now see a toggle under Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Method.

If an option is not selected, SMS or Phone Call will be selected by default.

You will have two options to choose from: 1) SMS or Phone call or 2) Microsoft Authenticator App.

Once you have selected an option, click on Save to set your chosen authentication method for that user.

The next time the user logs into Smartr365, they will be taken through the chosen flow i.e. SMS, Phone call or via the Authenticator App.

Why the Microsoft Authenticator App?

The Microsoft Authenticator App is Microsoft's recommended MFA type. It offers more security and works offline. This is a particularly useful feature if you want to log in somewhere with poor phone reception.
